From the Dawn of Aser

Egyptian, your sun has set on what is hopefully the last dictator as he leaves what is now a free Egypt.  His departure is burned into the nights sky by the burst of trails of light, horror and Egyptian blood on his behalf.  And shall it be forever that when free people stand abreast on loved soil with passion, a flowing, humility in their hearts, that none shall question their restraint or the dreams and desires for a free land.

From the earliest rays of the dawn of Asar to the evening triumphs of Cleopatra now rises a new sun rises and starts over a new land in a new day of continuing Egyptian history in which now, all are free.  As you lift your heads high amongst your brethren and sisters who kiss the new free Egyptian soil, clasping and greeting each other know ye that you Egyptian and that you are a free Egyptian.

What you have is the possibilities of a new fledgling democratic republic.  Support and defend your new Constitution against all enemies, foreign, domestic, and theocratic.  Have faith and honor your commitment without hesitation and doubt.  Respect all religions but a legal respecter of none, for without religious freedom and personal secular choice, none will be truly free.

Egyptian, you are a true, honest, brave and beautiful people who have suffered a thirty year history of repression, torture, murder and barbaric excesses of the top one percent.  Now you have a new republic if you can keep it.  Protect it like you would a suckling infant and nurse it on honesty, empathy, courage, equality and devotion.  Now televised seeds of change and freedom have sprouted and burned the promise of a new day in Arabic history, making a true democracy very possible.  Protect its future and guard it well.

We watched you as you resisted in peace, as you defied bravely, as you passionately restrained in the face of death, as the days and nights consumed your brave calls for help, as your blood drained into the night air and as you finally gained freedom from tyranny.  You exist.  You rise. You are free.  You are Egyptian.

Ma’as salaama.

ليلة جيدة والحمد لله
