As a newly fledged progressive who jumped ship from the Democratic party because of their constant embracing of blue dog policy, I do continue to support President Obama’s budget because of the possibility it just may stand up for the middle class and end special tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.
It is time to stop Republicans slaughter of the middle class and help ensure that the top 1% pay their fair share. This has to be the law of the land if in fact we are to stay a country not of “red states and blue states but of the United States.”
It has been sickening to live in this country for the past 60 years and watch our nation, its people, and their dreams for a better life, its natural beauty, our economy, our national pride, image and reputation to be squandered to nothingness in the name of the almighty corporate dollar.
Never have I been more ashamed to call myself an American as I watched mega banks and corporations turn into unrecognizable monsters swallowing up and devouring the lives, dreams and desires of average hard-working people without a hint of empathy.
Never have I been more angry at all politicians, Republican, RepubliCons, DemoCons, Democrat and Blue dogs (a democrat who lives in the financial closet) whose records continue to show the only interest in people who voted them into office is the compounded interest they have stolen and squandered from their constituents and millions of other Americans.
As a veteran I must admit that my hated surely runs deep for the early lies that were constructed so that American 18 year olds would be herded into the military like Kool Aid drinking lemmings to go off into foreign lands lose their lives and kill its people just to protect American blood oil. Yet at the same time the mega banks, insurance companies and other American corporations were reeling in literally bundles of blood soaked profits from foreclosures, collateralized debt obligations (CDO’s) and numerous other toxic assets.
The president’s budget actually shows some testicular fortitude and promise if in fact it does the job that it was written for without any last-minute hidden riders or agendas. If it hurts them where it hurts the most as the 1% have surely hurt the middle class and the impoverished then I say it is a fine day. May their green blood flow through the gutters of Wall Street like confetti on New Years day.
In closing, we would never have to pay another local, city or state tax again if we were to adopt a Base Federal Sales tax plan of taxing every financial transaction in the United States. Of course individuals would pay on a sliding scale within ceiling quotas and corporations while being legally having been stripped of their living sanction would pay a reduced scale while being financially awarded for worker retention, yet would still be in a substantially higher tax grade. With up to the minute governance the system would credit individual and corporate account in real-time just as we use credit and debit cards, with overages being settled quarterly. This would create a wealth of working capital so that our national debt would be exponentially reduced in months rather than years.
