God, the Universe and Chocolate Chip Cookies: Shaken and not Stirred

Science?  God? Or both one?  Religion, spirituality, or belief system, whatever one calls it the idea that there is a deity has been given so much berth, because at least in societies that allow certain religious freedoms, these communities at the least have a tendency to experience less crime and experience more productivity.  Besides what else does humankind have left to hold dear to?

The world’s top three religions (based on popular knowledge) Christianity, Islam and Judaism have been granted a lifetime ‘get out of jail card,’ in that governments become more stable as the respective doctrines favor the passing of time in attaining their validity.  How many Holy wars do you know (including in the United States) of that did not consider acquiring vast amounts of real estate during their occupation?  Do I know what the answer is?  No.  Do you?  No.  Does anyone know?  No!  I have a sad feeling though we will only continue our pitiful history in space.  There have been many books written in many languages that can attest by uncanny numbers of believers that theirs is one true way and all others are of a false God, or worse, the devil’s work.  I am not agnostic, I am not an atheist, nor am I a Christian or Jew.  I am a Buddhist and at that I have not been an orthodox nor a good one, albeit one nevertheless.  God and the universe know that my life has been, is and always will be a construction zone.  I guess that is why we persist in making pencils with erasers.  So, if space is never-ending, how does GOD get around?  Maybe he/she owns a spiritual Bentley, or he just takes the “RTD” into town and our individual lives, all six billion of them.

Do you like to bake Chocolate Chip cookies?  About how many cookies do you bake at a time?  If there is a God, and he, she, it or whomever it is that may or may not have actually created us, do you think they would be any different from us in thinking, I mean since we were allegedly made in their image?  Maybe more thoughtful, more omnipresent and very profound and all that, but tell me, how many chocolate chip cookies would they make?  I usually make about three to four dozen personally speaking.  How many dozens do you think he or she makes?  Well, think about it.

Firstly, I can see how the patterns in nature for the most part represent themselves in a uniform system.  All bipeds, quadrupeds, and some reptiles for the most part have the same basic systems although we humans have been allocated at this time a pleasant standing in the order of things especially in the dining area.  Secondly, these patterns for the most part by the process of division and replication keep on keeping on.

What I mean is that they continue to persist in making more of the same, a network of processes if you may, minus environment, causality and evolution.  I do believe in an ultimate being, but my truths I feel are somewhat more skewed, complex, or simpler that what I have read in the bible or any other book for that matter.  I not only believe that there is a higher power, but he, she, or it has so many ‘other flocks’ situated here, there and everywhere that it would take every human that ever lived on the face of this planet to count till the end of their natural lives.  Speaking of ‘here and there’ it is only because of our documented and long corporeal history being that we do not play well with the other kids in the school yard that we have been banished to the only spot where we will be safe and can continue to kill each other in peace.

Look at how we have gotten along in our own sandbox with the other kids.  Since the first day of recorded time, we have been killing each other.  We simply do not play nice together, although I must admit that we have gotten better.  We still have a long way to go, and I think we will get there.  This is why we and the ‘other kids’ do not live too close together.  If that is not an excuse for a deity to use then I do not know what is.  I hope that we will learn and get there some day then maybe someone will be able to help me redefine the words global, chocolate chip cookie, and the 21 megahertz band.

So in closing, I feel like having a couple of warm, moist and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies followed by a very chilled vodka martini, so dry you can blow the unrepentant dust of it.  Here, have one and well sit back together and watch the light trip into fantastic infinity, as they may be doing just the same with their looking glasses.
